Driving with a broken windshield<\/h2>\n

It all depends on the law \u2014 that is, it depends on the size of the crack. If you don\u2019t want to take risks, at Ralarsa we carry out glass repair<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

That said, you could be fined if the windshield crack is longer than 30 centimetres, if it runs across the full width or height of the windshield, or if it is located in the driver\u2019s field of vision. If the crack meets any of these conditions, you may be sanctioned. In addition, you may fail the ITV (vehicle inspection) and be fined for driving with a broken windshield. In short, driving with any broken window is not the best idea, as it can lead to a fine and, beyond the financial aspect, you are putting your safety and that of the vehicle\u2019s occupants at risk.<\/p>\n

A broken windshield will not protect any passenger<\/h2>\n

Repairing a broken windshield is necessary and something we must keep in mind. Windshields are made of two laminated glass layers bonded together and specifically designed to perform a certain function. If one of the layers breaks, the laminate and the internal layer of the glass have enough strength to hold the windshield together. If the glass breaks, it will not shatter into pieces over the passengers, but the second layer will remain exposed.<\/p>\n

Measures for a broken windshield<\/h2>\n

Driving with a cracked front windshield poses a high level of danger, as it directly affects driving, weakens the vehicle in the event of an accident, and does not comply with road regulations.
