What is the process for car window tinting?
As mentioned at the start of this article, many of the new car models already incorporate dark glass as standard, although the possibility of opting for window tinting afterwards is also feasible. And in fact, the process is incredibly simple and efficient.
The first thing you will need to consider is choosing qualified window tinting workshops specialised in automotive services, such as Ralarsa. Once that is done, any elements that may hinder the placement of the films must be removed. Then, the glass to be tinted is carefully cleaned, both inside and out.
Next, the window measurements are taken so that the film occupies the exact dimensions, although a few centimetres of margin are often left. The film can now be placed on the glass. Then, heat will need to be applied in those areas where creases may have formed, which will be removed with a rubber spatula. The only thing left is to trim the excess film pieces and let it dry.
What may seem like a complex process takes very little time for expert window tinting workshops performing this and other similar services. In addition, at Ralarsa the customer is provided with a certification of the installed films: manufacturer, model, place and date, and the vehicle’s details.
It should be noted that, according to the regulations governing car window tinting in Spain, it is not possible to darken the front windows or the windscreen, so that the driver’s field of vision is not interrupted in any way. Thus, as we are used to seeing on the roads, solar films are only integrated into the rear side windows and the rear windscreen of the car.
Benefits of window tinting
In recent years, as we mentioned earlier, darkening car windows has gone from being something purely aesthetic to providing several advantages for users travelling in the car. So, what are these advantages? We present them to you below!
Firstly, tinted glass stops ultraviolet rays from entering the inside of the vehicle, resulting in a more comfortable temperature, especially during the hottest months. It is precisely in summer when less transparent glass can help reduce fuel consumption, since the windows act as a “shield” and therefore, the air conditioning becomes less necessary.
Linked to the above, darkening the windows also ensures that elements such as the car’s upholstery remain in good condition, as wear is reduced due to the direct impact of the sun. Along the same lines, in case of an accident, the films would prevent glass from shattering, thus avoiding major personal injuries.
Privacy is another key factor. With tinted glass, for example, valuable objects cannot be seen from outside the vehicle. It is also worth considering when young children usually travel in the car.
